Jamie “Hula” Witherill is referred to by many surfers as “The Man of Tahiti”. He is an expert surf guide for WaterWays’ covering the North and South Shores of Tahiti as well as Moorea using his Toyoto Hi-Lux truck and various boats depending on the client needs. As he will tell you, every mode of transportation is necessary to get you into the best surf spots on any side of Tahiti or Moorea.

Originally from Pacific Palisades, CA Jamie competed regularly in longboard competitions. He moved to Tahiti in 1993 in search of better, more powerful surf and found himself living on Huahine where he met his wife and started a family. In 2002 Jamie and the family moved back to the main island of Tahiti to get more involved with fishing charters and tow surfing. From their new house in the hills outside Papeete Jamie can see the surf each morning and has a view across the channel to Moorea.

Jamie’s friendly “aloha” spirit and knowledge of surf throughout the entire island chain will assure you the best experience possible. He is also a great photographer and shoots photos of his surf guests to take home the memories they scored! As you can see in the video and pictures above, Jamie has the surf in Tahiti dialed and always looking to have a good time!
