Airlines Waive Fee When Traveling During Hurricanes!

As the most recent hurricane Alex spins onto the coast of southern Texas and northwestern Mexico, airlines are introducing policy waivers for travelers that might be affected by the storms path.  The first airline to introduce this procedure is Continental, which has a hub in Texas.  They are waiving the change fees in your ticket if your route or airport is likely to be impacted by the storm.

Two other airlines, Delta and American also offer similar waivers to these affected travelers with what American calls their hurricane protection policy

If you ever have travel plans that could be impacted, check with your airlines for ticket-change guidelines.
