Kuda Laut - THE BOAT

Kuda Laut is an Indonesian-registered motorsailer made of Sumatran ironwood. She is 58 feet long and powered by an 80 HP Mitsubishi diesel for a cruising speed of eight knots. An Onan generator powers a fully array of modern navigational and communication equipment, including Garman GPS, Furuno 16-mile radar, Furuno depth sounder, Fishfinder, SSB and VHS radios and EPIRB.

The boat has life jackets and safety rings for everyone on board, fire extinguishers and a medical and first aid kit.

Guests sleep soundly in eight berths in an air conditioned, dormitory-style cabin. There is a clean, comfortable indoor head and shower, with an outside ‘bak mandi’ style shower for rinsing off the sun and salt after hours in the ocean.

The Kuda Laut has two anchors for staying put in the channel, and uses a four-meter aluminum runabout powered by a 40 HP outboard for getting to the surf and back.

For your non-surfing entertainment and relaxation, Kuda Laut has a stereo, 34-inch flat screen TV and video player. There is snorkeling gear, trawling gear and hand lines on board for checking out the reefs and getting something for the dinner table.
