When it comes to Indonesian surf adventure, anyone who tells you "been there, done that..." probably hasn't been to Timor/Roti or the neighboring islands. This isolated region to the east of Bali has long been spoken of as a rich surf zone, but has seen little of the surf travel development that has pushed up to the north, through Java and Sumatra. Which is our point exactly. East Nusa Tenggara; Timor to Sumba: exotic isles steeped in mystery and culture, and absolutely loaded with surf potential, from high-performance right tubes to left barreling walls as heavy and hollow as you've ever seen.

WaterWays offers two excellent options to experience this surf rich zone; one by live-aboard yacht charter Mahalo II, the other in the comfort of the beautiful Nemberala Beach Resort located on the island of Roti.

The Mahalo II yacht charter is unparalleled in comfort with its fully air-conditioned interior, full restaurant stainless steel kitchen and modern entertainment systems.  Traveling by yacht offers the most convenient access to the full variety of breaks in the greater region.

Nemberala Beach Resort located on the island of Roti is a newly developed property.  From the resort you can watch the premier wave in this region (Nemberala) break throughout the day, with more limited access to the many other rights and lefts in the area. The resort has been beautifully designed and constructed from local stone.  NBR is an excellent option for surfers traveling with their “significant others” or families.

Further detail on both these options is available under the individual links to the left.
