All of our surf packages in Ecuador are organized and hosted by California surfer Randy Hood. Randy has spent the past 18 years in South America, the last eleven years developing the Casa Del Sol Surf Tour Operations business and guiding surfers the length of Ecuador and out to the Galapagos Islands.

Independent Stay-Put Program
La Casa Del Sol Hotel is located on the beach, directly in front of the point at Montanita, a grinding right hand barrel that’s one of Ecuador’s premier waves. Montanita is also located near hollow beach breaks, long wrapping points, and numerous other spots. When out of the water you can enjoy the area’s rich, culturally diverse scene with live music, bars, local shops, and restaurants.

A stay at La Casa Del Sol including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and round trip airport transfers is an excellent option for the surfer on a tight budget, or who just wants to surf the waves in front of the Resort and party through the night.

6+ Night Surf Tour From Montanita
The Ecuadorian mainland package is a minimum of 6 nights in duration and is based out of Montanita. Each day your guide will use his local knowledge and experience take you to the best spots considering the tide, wind conditions, and swell direction. Most spots are not only nearly impossible to find, but many can only be reached by 4x4 truck which keeps the crowds at a minimum.

You will stay at the Hotel “La Casa Del Sol” which is located in front of the wave in Montanita. Owned and managed by Californian Randy Hood, La Casa Del Sol has been welcoming surfers for over 11 years.

8 Night Galapagos Package
Surfing with Sea Lions, Sea Turtles, Marine Iguanas, great waves, clear water, and low crowds is an experience which can’t be duplicated anywhere else in the world. The Galapagos Islands offers an experience as rich as its history. It truly is an amazing place for surf as well, with big open barrels and fun hot dog waves depending on the size of the swell and the spots you choose. San Cristobal Island and Santa Cruz pick up both north and south swells and the prevailing wind is offshore throughout most the season. It gets big on both north and south swells and the waves come in fast out of deep water so you may consider bringing bigger boards. In between surf sessions you can enjoy snorkeling, hiking, and many other nature focused activities with the your groups private Naturalist who is there to show you all of the islands natural treasures.

The Galapagos package is based out of San Cristobal Island where the group will have sole access to a high speed boat for transfers to the different waves around San Cristobal. In the evening you will return to the harbor front hotel Miconia to relax and enjoy the town in San Cristobal. The hotel is nicely appointed with ocean view rooms, A/C, pool, Gym, and business center.

Getting There
The group will be met in the Guayaquil Airport by the surf guide who will take them to the Sheraton Hotel in Guayaquil where they will spend the night and fly to Galapagos first thing in the morning. The flight is 1 and 1/2 hours from Guayaquil to San Cristobal Island, Galapagos. Immediately after landing on San Cristobal Island the guide will take the group to settle into the hotel, and then on to one the 4 four spots nearby depending on the swell conditions. There will be plenty of time for to surf the first day. Many of the surf spots are located within a short boat ride from the main town.

Weather And waves
